about me
Hi, I'm William and I head up the WEB Team (Web Engagement & Banking) at Vancity, Canada's largest credit union.
My opinions and views are just that, and don't reflect the views of my employer (or, perhaps, anyone else).
I can be found on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
A great time at Finovate.
I had a great time today at Finovate. I gotta hand it to Jim - he ran a good show. The format of giving each presenter only 7 minutes, no powerpoint, no bullets, just a real live demo of their product, was genius.Maybe it was the curating, knowing that each presenter was invited to participate because they had something to offer made the difference, but every conversation I had was so amazingly useful. I don't think I have ever been to a conference where I got so many useful business cards.
I'd be curious to know what others thought, but I had a great time.
Now, my vacation begins...

William thanks for blogging about all of this on Netbanker.
In your opinion, what was the top product you saw?

I agree with you William. The format was efficient. It was great to see so many well architected solutions hitting the financial services space.
I was particularly impressed the user interface from Mint. They seem to have the cleanest implementation of PFM. The ads make sense and add value to the customer as opposed to seeking to simply push services.
Nice meeting you as well.

Wanted to say thanks, also, for the live blogging. I was following along -- you did a great job. Thanks.

@Matt - Hard to say the top product because so many were so different. I liked Mint a lot. I liked Prosper.com and Lending Club a lot. Wait, you asked for one... Ummm, sorry no can do.

@ Craig - I agree, I can see why Mint won at the TechCrunch 40,
